Here’s how the SportDOG SBC-R works:

The collar includes 10 levels of static stimulation. Level 1 provides a very low stimulation for dogs with a mild temperament, while level 10 offers a high stimulation for stubborn dogs. You can choose from 3 modes of operation that work best for your dog:

User-Selected Mode (Recommended):

In this mode, you can manually set the collar to a level that matches your dog’s drive. When your dog barks, the collar immediately delivers a static stimulation at the level you set. It’s important to set the collar to level 1 when you first receive it. If your dog continues to bark through level 1, increase the collar to level 2, and so on, until you reach a stimulation level that matches your dog’s drive to bark. Be sure to ensure that the collar is fitted correctly before increasing the stimulation levels.

Temperament Learning Mode:

With this mode, the collar starts at the lowest level (level 1). If your dog barks within 30 seconds of the previous bark, the collar will increase one level at a time until your dog stops barking. After 30 seconds of silence, the collar remembers the highest stimulation level used to stop your dog’s barking. If your dog continues to bark after 30 seconds of silence, the collar will resume delivering static stimulation at the highest level used to stop your dog’s barking.

Progressive Correction Mode:

In this mode, the collar also starts at the lowest level (level 1) and increases one level at a time as your dog continues to bark within 30 seconds of the previous bark. The only difference is that, after 30 seconds of silence, the collar drops back down to level 1. When your dog starts barking again after 30 seconds, the collar starts at the lowest level and gradually increases one level at a time until your dog stops barking. This process repeats each time your dog starts barking.

Safety Note: The SBC-R collar includes a built-in safety feature that automatically stops delivering a static stimulation for 30 seconds and then resumes normal operation if your dog barks 15 times or more within an 80-second period. This safety feature is active in all three modes of operation.
